Byrne Ó Cléirigh had acted as consultants to
the Irish National Petroleum Corporation and its
subsidiary companies - Irish Refining, Bantry
Terminals Ltd. and the National Oil Reserves
Agency - since 1989. We had advised them on
technical and environmental issues, and Byrne Ó
Cléirigh senior personnel have been members of
INPC's in-house planning team which had the task
of overseeing developments at Whitegate Refinery
and at the Whiddy Island Terminal throughout the previous decade.
Our managing partner was a member of
the Strategic Alliance Team which successfully
brought the Corporation to privatisation in July
2001, following a two and a half year process to
find opportunities for developing and expanding
INPC's core business and in particular to attract
a strategic partner to INPC.
